EMT PROGRAM


EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIAN (EMT) PROGRAM

Duration: Full year

Students enrolled in the Emergency Medical Technician Program are scheduled for 135 hours of classes and receive a full course credit upon successful completion of the program. As part of the curriculum, students will acquire first aid certification and follow a rigorous schedule of topics including the human body, general pharmacology, respiratory and cardiovascular emergencies, disease-related medical conditions, environmental and behavioral emergencies, musculoskeletal care, soft tissue injuries, trauma and infant and child trauma. Additionally, students, 16 years of age and older, will complete a probationary period of ambulance observation.
