FEDERAL RESERVE CHALLENGE
This economics competition includes speakers and a team of researchers that meet starting at the beginning of the year to discuss
whether they believe the Federal Reserve should raise or lower the tax rate. 5 speakers are selected to argue their points, supported by
numerous researchers who collaborate with the speakers to work on their speeches with them. Speakers have an allotted time to argue in front
of a panel, afterwords they have a round of questioning from the speakers. Bromfield has made it as far as the semi-finals to the Federal
Reserve Bank in Boston. For 2005, Bromfield did so well that economic advisor and teacher, Mr. Besold, received a grant from the competition
to aid the funding for the economics program.
