General Information

The goal of the Bridges program is to provide safe, high quality before and after school care in an enjoyable and enriching atmosphere with supervision by a caring staff.

The Bridges Program sponsored by the Harvard Public Schools and administered by the Office of Harvard Community Education. The before and after school care is located at the Hildreth Elementary School. The office of the Director of Community Education is next door in the Bromfield House, 2nd floor, 39 Massachusetts Avenue.

Children enrolled in the Harvard Public Schools from kindergarten through grade five are eligible to attend. Enrollment is on a first-com, first-served basis. The Bridges Program as part of the Harvard Public Schools does not discriminate on the basis of race, national background, religion, gender, economic status, political party, age, handicap and other human differences in admission to , access to, treatment in or employment tin its programs or activities.

Children are divided for activities according to age and interest. Choices include: recreation, arts and crafts, computers, cooking, sports and games, drama, hobbies, nature and science. A quiet area is available for students wishing to do homework. An afternoon snack is provided daily. Children have access to the gymnasium and other school areas on a space available basis. Field trips and on site enrichment programs are scheduled periodically. Children occasionally take walking trips to nearby locations.

Program
