At the high school level, the Visual Arts Program has been designed to provide students with rich opportunities in developing skills and knowledge in both creating art and responding to art.

Students are encouraged to develop creative, problem-solving thinking skills through their use of appropriate art mediums and techniques, to analyze works of art, and to understand the cultural dimensions and contributions of the arts. Through our curriculum, students also come to understand the purpose of the arts as a means of personal expressions, as well as its role in our daily lives.

The High School Art Department offers comprehensive courses in traditional art media, drawing, painting, ceramics and jewelry, and also offers courses in communication arts, computer graphics, and digital photography.
